The input for GlioModel will most commonly be one or more genetically manipulated (knock-down, knock-out or knock-in) GBM cell-line(s) along with suitable control(s). The team can advise on the sourcing of suitable cell lines and the genetic manipulation thereof. The exception will be when using ex vivo models and, where suitable, 2D and potentially 3D assays in which in situ manipulation is to be investigated. The following models are established within groups in the consortium who can run them, using the manipulated cells, and perform suitable downstream assays to enable multi-level preclinical investigation of targets of interest. The expertise within the consortium includes irradiation and preclinical imaging of models, which can be built into the assays and subsequent readouts.
